At http://FBsecretagent.com I have taught businesses how to advertise on Facebook for twenty consecutive 60-day bootcamps since 2014. When Facebook became a publicly traded company they had to get really good at monetizing the platform for advertisers. From my perspective, they have built the most impressive advertising platform in the world but at what cost to the user base? My 2 millennial kids do not even use Facebook because there say there are too many businesses pushing products.
My takeaway for advertising is to use more video and strive for more engagement on your posts. For advertisers, they should use more one-to-one communication like Facebook Messenger. For your personal Facebook, tone down the amount of business posts and external hyperlinks.
