Facebook is cracking down on cheesy Realtor posts. Their official statement can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/help/publisher/newsfeedguidelines
I am actually thankful. Being a coach in real estate I see the copy cat posts times 100. They are the ones that announce a “change in the Facebook algorithm and comment below and share with 10 friends” or “leave your email address below and I will send you __________.”
This marketer has a good summary of the Facebook updates. He is right, Facebook rarely announces changes – in my FBsecretagent.com training I am consistently reporting the unannounced Facebook advertising changes that happen every month.
This is fair warning to my real estate agent followers. Be authentic, be original and let you posts get shares and comments organically because they contain valuable content that is fun and interesting.
I do have a lot of work arounds that will be undetectable or perfectly inline with Facebook rules.
#1 Text short codes allow you to gain leads without your audience having to comment with their email addresses. Examples:
Text the word CONVERT to 33444 to get my free book on conversion funnels (go ahead and try it).
Text RAINMAKER to 33444 to get my book on eXp Realty (this is a live text code as well).
#2 Facebook Advertising. It is simple. If the goal of the cheesy posts is to make sure you show up in the newsfeed more often with your friends and SOI (sphere of influence) – stop doing it. You can run top-of-mind awareness campaigns to your uploaded databases for as little as $1 a day.
I shared the SOI campaign on a couple of recent podcasts:
